What are Oz-Post ground spikes?

Oz-Post ground spikes Oz-Spike™ are pre-fabricated galvanised steel bases (ground anchors) designed to permanently support posts without the need to dig holes and pour concrete foundations. Oz-Post foundations are used in signpost, marker post, street furniture, underground service marker, fencing, domestic and farm stockyard applications.

Why use the Oz-Spike™?

The Oz-Post range are the original system for saving time and labour when installing permanent and temporary posts. Oz-Post will save time and money through shorter installation times and longer life span. Across all applications an Oz-Spike™ is fully recyclable, retrievable and re-useable also eliminating wastage. When removed an Oz-Spike™ will not leave a hole, making it the perfect quick and easy option for both temporary and permanent fencing requirements.

Oz-Spikes™ have also been impact tested, rated for horizontal loads and wind resistance and are manufactured in accordance with Australian Standards. The Oz-Post range is the perfect alternative to time consuming post installation methods. The Oz-Spike™ have a straight or tapered fin type to suit soft through to hard soil types.

How are they installed?

An Oz-Post ground spike range are simply driven into the ground with a jackhammer or can be manually hammered in, with no digging or concreting required. Simply drive the ground anchor into the ground, insert the post and fix into place using the Oz-Post fixing wedge.

Oz-Posts range of Oz-Spike™ has housing to suit any application. The standard cup dimensions are manufactured to suit round, square and rectangular posts. The standard sizes are indicated below in millimetres. Custom made sizes are also available on request. Our WAD and SAB series have been made for South Australian and Western Australian profiles.

FIN LENGTHS

The Oz-Post pickets are available in various lengths to suit most ground conditions. For more information on the ideal application of each of the Oz-Spike™ lengths, please view our table below.

250mm

Perfect for bitumen or road base. The 250mm picket is commonly used on roundabouts for hazard and keep left signs.

350mm & 450mm

The mid range sizes suits extremely hard or well compacted areas such as roadside shoulders, asphalt or sandstone.

600mm

Our longer 600mm pickets are ideal in areas with highly compacted soil, hard clay or natural earth conditions.

750mm

The longest Oz-Spike™ length is perfect for more reactive soil types such as black soil.
